The Kalamazoo Central boys basketball team improved to 8-2 on the season with a 19-point win on Tuesday night over St. Joseph.

The Maroon Giants with a very young, very talented, and very deep team in 2021. Head Coach Ramsey Nichols said the team chemistry has been fantastic.

"I think this group can be a special group," said Nichols. "They really like each other, they've bought into what we are trying to accomplish, and they really work hard. And some of that work is starting to pay off right now."

Nichols said the team's depth was it's biggest strength, and that some of the players coming off the bench "could start for us, but have accepted their roles."

Kalamazoo Central has only one senior on the roster in 2021.

Nichols said "this is not a star driven team."

He mentioned the Giants have had a different high scorer on a near nightly basis.

The regular season wraps up on March 19, with district play beginning on March 23.
