FAQ: What is the CW7's relationship to WWMT, Channel 3?
WWMT-TV and CW7 are both owned by Freedom Broadcasting of Michigan Inc., a division of Freedom Communications (www.freedom.com). CW7 is a separate 24-hour TV station with CW network programming, along with other local and syndicated programming.
FAQ: How can I watch the CW7?
The CW7 will be broadcast as part of WWMT's digital signal, which can be subdivided to transmit more than one channel. The CW7 is available free over-the-air on digital channel 3.2. To view it as a free, over-the-air signal, you will need:

A full size low band VHF antenna. The antenna should be 7.5 feet in length and can be positioned in an attic or mounted outdoors.
-
A digital TV tuner or receiver.

FAQ: Why won't the small antenna on my TV work?
Traditional "rabbit ear" type antennas are not sufficient in most situations. WWMT was assigned the lowest frequency, channel 2, the only channel available in West Michigan. This low frequency requires a full size antenna to receive the signal effectively.
FAQ: Which direction do I point the antenna?
WWMT's transmitter tower is at Gun Lake in Barry County. Point the antenna in that general direction from where you live. "Pointing" the antenna means positioning it so the longest aluminum pieces are perpendicular to the transmitter site.
FAQ: Will the low frequency signal ever be improved?
WWMT has applied for a signal change to a higher frequency. This will allow us to increase power which will improve signal quality and require a smaller antenna.
FAQ: What is a sub-channel of WWMT?
A digital transmission has the capacity to carry more than one signal. The assigned frequency can be sub-divided. We divided ours to transmit WWMT-HD and CW7 (beginning September 18).
FAQ: We have an antenna. Will that get only the CBS network programming or both?
You need a digital receiver to tune to other digital channels. Your antenna (see specifications above) should plug into the "RF in" port of the receiver. Run a cable from "video out" on the receiver to the "video in" of your TV. Tune the receiver to channel 3.1 for WWMT or to 3.2 for CW7.
For HD-ready TVs, plug the antenna into your receiver, and use the "component" connections to your TV for better quality.
If you already subscribe to a cable or satellite system, your receiver should have an extra port for an external antenna with a switch so you can watch free-over-the-air programming.
